Hoping to recreate the spirit of Burning man;in the fall of 1999 a group of friends gathered in the swamps of Southern Maryland to celebrate their creativity and to share their various talents. The first Monkey Business could only be described as rustic. We etched a little clearing out on Ellie's property and spent the night huddled around a bonfire while Stevie, Rusty, Frank and Eric worked their magic and filled our ears with glorious beats. The girls lead by Anne decorated the camp to commemorate the coming of Halloween.Over the years the clearing grew and so did our group of friends. We've had good weather and bad, and art projects large and small and we've had new friends join us and old friends who have moved away or missed out for one reason or another. We relocated to Prince William forest for several years and now we are off to a new adventure at Abrams Creek in WV. Through it all, the intent and feeling of Monkey Business has remained the same; to provide a venue where our friends can gather to enjoy each others company and show case their many different talents
